Puppies, duckies and kittens, the baby animal theme is a theme that can be fun to share with your guests. Have them bring a stuffed animal to spruce up your event and use all of them as centerpieces and decorations, it can be passed on to the mother-to-be after the event is over.
The mommy will love this baby animal theme idea. From Teddy bears to panda bears, you are sure to please.
Just make sure you don't over do it. You don't have to fill every corner of the room with animal toys.
One great tip is to have snacks such as animal crackers with a sign next to them saying "Please Don't Feed The Animals" Gummy Bears in a plastic baby bottle is also a winner.
BABY ANIMAL THEME DECORATING IDEAS
Party stores sells tons of festive animal supplies to make your planning much easier.
With this baby animal theme you can use all animals in general or you can use domestic, aquatic, zoo or jungle animals.

Use lots of animal balloons, they are fun and cheap to purchase. Decorate your table with a diaper cake full of cute little animals.
When you send your invitations out, ask every guests to bring a stuffed animal, you can use them for additional decoration and after the event is over, give them all to the mom-to-be. Who knows you might even inspire her to use the baby animal theme for her baby's room.
The food table can be decorated with bowls of animal crackers, gummi bears and a beautiful cake shaped like an animal figure.
The centerpiece can be an animal theme diaper cake or a couple of stuffed animals leaning against a beautiful vase of flowers.
Dress up the party with an animal mobile hung over the table. Give it to mom when the party is over.
BABY ANIMAL THEME RECIPES
ANIMAL VANILLA CUPCAKES
Ingredients
2 1/2 cups of flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 stick butter
3 large eggs
Preparation
Preheat oven 350 degrees and prepare 24 muffin cups with paper liners
Combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt in medium bowl
Combine all liquid ingredients, milk, vanilla extract and oil in other bowl
In a mixing bowl add the butter and sugar with an electric mixer, mix until light and fluffy
Add the eggs one by one mixing well between addition
Add the flour mixture with the milk mixture, mix until blended
Add batter to prepared muffin cups, filling each cup two-thirds full
Bake 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean
Remove cupcakes from muffin cups
Completely cool down before decorating
Start the decoration by frosting the cupcakes with grass, using buttercreme icing
and a piping tip #233. Finish it off by displaying cute-looking animals made with royal icing.
PIGS IN A BLANKET
Ingredients
Little smokies sausages
crescent rolls
Parmesan cheese
garlic salt
Preparation
Unroll a triangle of crescent roll
Make a small slit in the sausage
insert the cheese into the slit
roll the sausage onto the crescent roll wide side first
place in baking pan
sprinkle with garlic salt
bake according to crescent roll directions
COTTAGE CHEESE SNACK
Ingredients
English muffin sliced in 2
cottage cheese
red pepper
sweet and sour pickles
radish
green onion stem
Preparation
Slice the English muffin in 2 lengthwise
Generously spread the cottage cheese on the English muffin
Use sliced radishes for the ears
sweet and sour pickles for the eyes
red peppers creatively cut for the mouth
green onion stem for whiskers
Be creative with all the choices of vegetable. If you want a little help you can always copy on the picture I added to the right.
But mostly have fun with it!
BABY ANIMAL THEME INVITATIONS
Monkeys, duckies or bears Oh my!. Oops! maybe I chose the wrong animals but which will you choose on your invitations
Create your own invites by stamping animal figures on the front of a folded card stock, make it 3D with a background sunset and in front of the animals, glue a little bit of imaginary grass and flowers.
My favorite invitations are the postcard invitations, they are simple but yet so convenient and you save up on the envelopes.
With the baby animal theme the colors do not really matter, you can choose any colors but always think trio, that's right, three colors to base your whole event on.
A few examples:
- green, blue, violet
- yellow, pink, white
- gold, silver, red
- green, beige, orange
Hang a clothesline inside your event space, when you send your invitations ask each guest to bring a onesie with a written message and cute cuddly animal face. Hang the onesies on the clothesline when your guests arrives.
Add photos or images of your favorite animal in your designs when creating your invitations

Guess the baby animal
Write 20 to 25 animal names on a sheet of paper. Have your guests write the name of the baby animal related to it's parent.
Here's a few examples:

Animal Trivia
Test your guests knowledge of animals.
On index cards write animal trivia, you can also find most trivia on the Internet. The guest with the most correct answers wins!
Don't leave the egg out of your sight
This is one of the great fun games!
When your guests arrive give them each a plastic egg, making sure everyone has a different color egg. Throughout the party, your guests are asked not to leave their egg unattended unless they need to use the restroom, then they need to ask another guest to egg sit for them. The point of the game is if a guess sees an egg unattended throughout the party, she or he can take it.
The guest with the most eggs at the end wins!
