ALPHABET SOUP
Ingredients
2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 cups onions
2 tbsp salt
2 tbsp dried parsley
2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp dried basil
1 1/2 cups sliced carrots
1 1/2 cups chopped celery
2 tsp minced garlic
2 quarts chicken broth
2 cups water
1 bay leaf
1 cup alphabet pasta
1 cup fresh green beans
1 cup fresh peas
Preparation
Heat oil in a large soup pot over medium heat
Add the vegetable and cook a few minutes or until soft
Add the garlic, chicken broth, water and bay leaf
Reduce the heat to low and simmer
Uncover for 30 minutes
Add the alphabet and stir well
Simmer for 15 minutes
ALPHABET COOKIES
Ingredients
1 1/2 cup of butter
2 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 tsp baking powder
Preparation
Pre-heat oven to medium heat
Add all ingredients into a bowl and kneed to an even dough
Divide the dough into small balls and roll them out with a rolling pin, 1/4 inch thick
Cut into shapes with an alphabet cookie cutter
Bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown
ABC APPLE PIE
Ingredients for filling
1 cup sugar
6 cups of apples, peeled and sliced
3 tsp lemon juice
pastry for a single-crust pie
1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
pinch of nutmeg
Preparation
Mix together dry ingredients
Sprinkle dry ingredients and lemon over apples and mix well
Add filling generously into unbaked 9" crust pie shell
Add crumb topping(ingredients for a crumb topping below)
Bake for 45 minutes at 425 degrees
Crumb Topping: 1/4 cup butter, 1/4 cup packed brown sugar, 3/4 cup flour
Mix ingredients until crumbly and sprinkle over filling
Before serving, draw a letter of the alphabet with whip cream to complement the theme

Allow a 5 minute timeline, the guests with the most acceptable words, wins.
Another game that is one of my favorites brings a lot of laughter's and fun. Place your guests in a circle with a chair behind them as they are all standing. Starting with the letter A the first guest has to come up with a baby related item that starts with the letter A, the next guest does the same with the letter B and so on. The guest that struggles to come up with a word has to sit down, you go on until one guess is left standing. And this guess will be the winner!
Do not worry about time, it goes faster than you think.
